  1. LATEST INFORMATION for OEM InterWave(tm) Audio Card
  2. Version 1.00 (LT2_R3B7)

  5. 1.  WINDOWS 95 INSTALLATION
  6.  
  7. - To install in Windows 95, when Windows 95 displays "Found new hardware",
  8.   choose "install drivers from vendor disk" and insert the CD-ROM and/or 
  9.   floppy disk which includes the InterWave audio card drivers.
  10.    
  11. - Choose Windows default driver for "Game Port/Joystick". You may be 
  12.   required to provide the Windows 95 installation CD-ROM and/or floppy 
  13.   disk set at this time.
  14.  
  15. - At the end of installation, Windows 95 will prompt you to reboot your
  16.   system to activate all installed software.
  17.  
  18. - On some systems, Windows 95 may prompt you to reboot the system during
  19.   the above process to complete some additional PnP auto-configuration. 
  20.   If this is the case and you do not see any InterWave folder created
  21.   after complete device driver installation, then run "a:\setup.exe" to 
  22.   copy some more files for application files and creation of groups.
  23.  
  24. - To play DOS games under Windows 95, create a new MS-DOS BOX by short-cut
  25.   shell method which will automatically setup the environment for DOS 
  26.   game operation.
  27.  
  28. - Uninstall program does not remove the following:
  29.            - \interwav.rom\dos\iwinit.exe (autoexec.bat)
  30.            - \interwav.rom\win95\gamebox  (autoexec.bat)
  31.            - \interwav.rom\dos\emm386.exe (config.sys)
  32.   The Unistall program does remove the InterWave audio card applications
  33.   on the hard disk and retrieves all the used disk space.

  35. 2.  TECHNICAL TIPS
  36.  
  37. -  Insure that Windows 95 is loaded in a system before installing the 
  38.    InterWave audio card.  If Windows 95 must be reloaded, remove the 
  39.    audio card before loading Windows 95 and then reinstall after 
  40.    Windows 95 has been loaded.
  41.  
  42. -  Even though this software release includes Windows InstallShield 
  43.    uninstall utilities, if an install fails in the middle of the install 
  44.    process it is recommended that Windows 95 be reloaded to ensure that 
  45.    no fragments of the InterWave audio card installation process are left
  46.    over.   Using uninstall in this case is unreliable.
  47.  
  48. -  The autodetect function to determine which sound card is in use does 
  49.    not function properly in some games (i.e., Descent).   These games 
  50.    will function properly when set up manually.  Use of the  autodetect 
  51.    function in game set-up is NOT RECOMMENDED.   
  52.  
  53. -  The InterWave audio card software includes an updated version of 
  54.    EMM386 (dated 7-11-95; 125,495 bytes).  If an older version of EMM386 
  55.    is used some games will not function properly.  These games work 
  56.    properly if the updated EMM386 is used.   Games known to exhibit 
  57.    problems with the older version of EMM386 include:

  78.    1) To program EEPROM, run "pnpmap -f lt2.rom".
